After reading through the material on “Digital Futures for Education’ I want to recognize how often people use technology on a day-to-day basis without even realizing it. People have been using technology for decades in informal and formal ways and it is getting brought into the classroom more and more each day to enhance students learning! Technology has imbedded itself into education and the way that students learn has been enhanced by the improvements of technology over time. Technology has proven that it is constantly changing, and this is something that is never going to go backwards! While technology is forever changing and improving, that does not mean that there won’t be challenges. There will always be challenges and that is what we need to be prepared for. As technology is constantly changing, we need to also constantly be preparing for the future and what could go wrong.

It is important to keep up with privacy aspects of technology, making sure that you as well as others are safe in the online world and in the real world. It is important to remember to be careful while using any time of technology as it is always accumulating data on what you do and when.

Technology can only help those who want to receive help from it. People that are open to learning knew things and how things work are going to be the ones who benefit from it the most. This concept reminds me of one of my grandparents. Constantly refusing to even have a cellphone yet she would benefit from it in ways she doesn’t even realize! She is also someone who is reluctant to understand the positives to bringing technology into the classroom.

Technology in the classroom can enhance students learning in several ways. It is a way to engage the students in what they are learning, it also influences creativity and exploration. Technology is a great resource for students with diverse needs whether that be auditory, language etc! Below I have attached a diagram of 10 different ways technology can enhance the learning of students in the classroom.

Although technology has its many positives in the world of education, like anything else, it does have its setbacks. It is how students and others go about learning how to use the technology properly and appropriately that will influence the outcomes of what they receive from the use of technology.
